ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Ouiam Benchamach. If you are wondering how to pronounce my name, here is a little trick: think of “Oui” in French and “am” in English. Most people get confused by the many vowels, but honestly, I like that my name is abke to break the ice.

At my core, I am a curious and creative person who loves connecting ideas, people, and cultures. Marketing became the perfect field for me because it allows me to blend strategy with storytelling and data with creativity. But before I landed here, my journey was shaped by experiences that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, taught me resilience, and gave me a global perspective that I bring into my work every day.

I studied International Business Administration and Marketing Management at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. During my studies, I had the chance to spend a semester at Korea University in Seoul. That time abroad was more than just an academic exchange, it was a life-changing experience. I lived in a neighborhood far away from the usual student hubs, surrounded by locals, grandparents who would invite me for food, and shop owners who patiently taught me Korean words until I got them right. It taught me how to immerse myself in new cultures, adapt quickly, and appreciate perspectives far different from my own. It also sparked my love for solo travel. Since then, I have traveled through East Asia and Europe, sometimes alone and sometimes with friends, always with a camera in hand and an eagerness to learn about the world.

Professionally, I started at Unilever, where I supported brand launches across European markets and worked closely with consumer insights to help shape campaigns that truly resonated. It was my first taste of how powerful marketing can be when creativity and strategy align.

For the past three years, I have been working at Tata Steel Netherlands as an Improvement Consultant. I design and lead projects that focus on leadership development, organisational change, and process improvements. I have coached senior leaders, created onboarding programs, and supported major reorganizations by helping teams navigate change in clear and practical ways. I even worked on projects that introduced AI into business processes, blending innovation with efficiency. What I value most about this role is the mix of strategy and impact: I take complex challenges and translate them into solutions that not only look good on paper but actually work in practice.

Outside of my professional path, I am someone who rarely does things halfway. For years, I competed in esports, not just as a player but as a leader. In Apex Legends, I played in both women-only and mixed tournaments, coached all-female teams, and competed in high-stakes competitions. Gaming has been more than just a hobby; it has been a platform for me to show how women can lead and excel in a male-dominated space.

Creativity also drives much of my free time. I love photography from capturing quiet moments on solo trips in China to vibrant city life in Europe, and I enjoy content creation, especially blending my passions for travel and reading into TikTok videos. I am also drawn to beauty, fashion, and lifestyle, and I love the way these industries intersect with self-expression and culture. And before all that, there was music and dance. I grew up making music, training in ballet and modern dance, and eventually competing in hip hop. Volleyball was another big part of my life, and both sports and performance taught me teamwork, discipline, and how to keep pushing until I reach my goals.

Looking back, there is a common thread in everything I have done. I care about going all in, lifting others up, and creating something meaningful, whether it is a marketing campaign, a leadership program, or a piece of creative content. I thrive in environments where ideas flow, cultures meet, and challenges are turned into opportunities.

And that is me, someone who sees every project, trip, and collaboration as a chance to grow, connect, and make an impact.
